The First 30 Minutes-American Idol 2013

Each time they change judges on American Idol, I'm upset. Each season though, I usually warm up to the new judges soon. After the first 30 minutes of Idol 2013, I'm already liking the new judges. I've always liked Mariah Carey and Keith Urban. I wasn't familiar with Minaj except for her wild outfits and wild hair. Underneath the glitz and glam though, she seems very sincere and genuine. I can already tell that she is going to be the one this year that tells it like it is...if a contestant doesn't really have the talent, she is jumping right in and telling them. I'm glad to see Randy Jackson back, as the glue that holds it all together. One new judge I was happy to see was Steven Tyler from last season. He was one of the tops in music in my younger years, and I was so excited when I heard that he was going to be a judge. American Idol really re-ignited his career last year, and I'm glad for him that he is back out on the road touring, and too busy to be a judge again this year. I'll miss seeing him on Idol though. I hope he comes to my area for a concert someday.

I only saw the one year when Scotty won because it was on my work shift and it was what we watched when the clients were in bed and the chores were all done.

I used to work second shift, and I wasn't able to really watch evening tv much, so I was a late comer as an American Idol fan. I remember kind of laughing at my co-workers as they crowded around the tv in the breakroom during evening break when Idol was on. Now I'm a die hard fan myself. One night a few years ago I was on my way home from somewhere during elimination night, and I knew the show was going to start before I got home. I called my daughter on my cell phone and had her hold the home phone up to the tv so I could hear it on my way home.
